Uniform or individual?

Seth Godin asks a good question (illustrated with a photo) about safety in uniformity versus individuality.

Meanwhile, the issue raised on the Forward Blog relates to tattoos: are they a career move? (I don't have a tattoo story, but can think of a former PR consultancy colleague who tried to hide his youthful ear piercing. He's now a Conservative MP...)
